Freedom Energy is the next generation of flexible mobile solar energy production units. The solution is foldable, lightweight, and enables scalable power generation. Freedom Energy will provide new options for easy-to-deploy and off-grid energy production without dependency on the existence of energy and utility infrastructure.
From Prototype to Deployment
The first prototype has been funded by Danish shipping giant A.P. Moller Maersk and donated to Danish Church Aid (DCA) for deployment in Mykolaiv, Ukraine.
It has fast set-up from arrival to site to operation in 30 minute. The innovative design and concept will establish quick emergency access to essential utilities bringing clean water and power generation.
Modular use of the power unit and a mixture of stationary and mobile battery storage solutions will create a sustainable, flexible and resilient energy source supporting off grid and decentralised local area infrastructure.
Innovative Mobile Design
The design of the solution will allow for micro, small- and large-scale versions of the power unit. The foldable solutions can be placed on a trailer with assembly in 30 minutes. The largest solutions involve sliding and folding units of solar panels delivered in containers with step-by-step set-up guidance for max 30-minute deployment. Freedom Energy can be folded up again in 30 minutes ready for relocation to another site by car, van or truck.

Product design and engineering of the solution will ensure use of components that are easy to source, have extraordinary ruggedness. This will make it easy to target regional conflict and disaster areas with off-grid energy access enabling essential utilities such as clean water, heating, cooking, lights and lamps.
Energy Efficiency and Storage
Freedom Energy is a result of constant innovation of engineering and renewable energy solutions. Next version will incorporate changes based on the tests made in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. Automatic folding mechanism and angled solar panels are some of these changes.
Each cell can operate independently of the other cells on the panel. This ensures that power generation can continue in a panel despite faulty or damaged cells. Replacing and upgrading parts will be part of a unique design that will involve local and non-specialist work.

The battery solutions will be customised so that there is both a stationary storage capacity and options that will allow for battery packs that can be transported and located between 200 to 2000 meters from the mobile trailer – enabling further flexibility of application in crisis and disaster areas.

Freedom Energy solar energy modules and trailer units can be combined in series to provide large scale power production. The result can be a large solar farm that can both be assembled, divided and relocated to one or more sites in a very short time.
